Many gut microorganisms have been identified to be related to obesity. They induce the occurrence and development of obesity.

Gut Bacteria subtype linked to growth in up to 50% of human colorectal cancers. A study published in Nature ( volume 628, pages 424–432; 2024) suggests that a subtype of Fusobacterium nucleatum underlies colorectal cancer growth in humans and could be useful in screening and treatments.
